General surgery is the surgical class medical specialty that covers operations of the digestive system; including the gastrointestinal tract and the hepato-bilio-pancreatic system, the endocrine system; including the adrenal glands, thyroid, parathyroid, breast and other glands included in the digestive system. It also includes the repair of hernias and abdominal wall eventrations.
