Knee Infiltration

The infiltration consists of applying an injection with corticosteroids, anesthetics or hyaluronic acid to treat injuries, inflammation or reduce pain. This procedure is performed, most of the time, in joints such as knee, spine, hip, shoulder, foot, despite also being able to be done in muscles or tendons.

The objective of the infiltration is to treat the disease in the area where the lesion or inflammation occurs, mainly in the most serious cases or when there was no improvement with other treatments in tablets or topicals, being widely used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, in addition to which also helps to recover from tendonitis, epicondylitis or bruises that occur from sports, for example. The person indicated to carry out the infiltrations is the doctor.

In this way, in addition to relieving pain, infiltrations are useful to combat the progression of joint wear, reduce inflammation and improve joint function, allowing a better quality of life.
